_Nataliia Bezvoziuk — Software · Systems · AI_

## I make complicated things work.

I'm a software engineer and former backend lead with around ten years of experience building products and systems. I connect the dots between technology, people, and how things actually work.

Based in Oslo. Working across borders.

Nataliia Bezvoziuk is a software engineer in Oslo, Norway, with about ten years of experience building backend systems and products, formerly Backend Lead at Aller Media and now Software Engineer at Vipps MobilePay.

10 years in software · Former Backend Lead · Aller Media · Vipps MobilePay

## Backend depth, a wide-angle lens.

Most of my work sits where systems, data and people meet. These are the things I keep coming back to.

- **Backend & systems** APIs, distributed and event-driven services, payments and subscriptions. Google Cloud, PostgreSQL, Redis and Bigtable, with the observability to know what the system is really doing.
- **Integrations & workflows** Connecting tools, data and people so information stops being copied by hand. Practical applied AI where it genuinely helps, with humans keeping the final say.
- **Translation & leadership** Making complex things understandable to the people who depend on them. Leading backend work, and bringing journalism-trained research and writing to engineering decisions.

Technical areas: Go · TypeScript / Node · React · APIs · GCP · SQL & NoSQL · Backend architecture · Observability

## Curious enough to ask. Technical enough to build.

I like to understand the actual problem before reaching for a tool. Then I make the complex understandable, build the smallest useful version, and improve it with evidence.

- **Understand first.** Ask better questions, map constraints, look for the real bottleneck.
- **Make it real.** Connect systems, build and test rather than stop at slides.
- **Keep people in control.** Useful automation should make good judgment easier, not remove it.

## A decade of making systems work.

- **Vipps MobilePay — Software Engineer** (2025 — present). Backend engineering in a high-trust financial technology environment, working in the merchant KYC area.
- **Aller Media — Software Engineer → Backend Lead** (About six and a half years). Full-stack and backend engineering, then leading backend work on platforms involving subscriptions, payments, personalization, data and cloud services.
- **Journalism — Bachelor's degree** (Earlier foundation). Research, interviewing, writing, and the habit of explaining complex subjects clearly. It turned out to be good preparation for software.
- **Women & AI — Independent meetup host** (Oslo, 2025). Organized and hosted a small, informal meetup for women curious about using AI in everyday life. A hands-on community initiative, not a conference.

## Engineer by profession. Explorer by nature.

I'm Nataliia. Originally from Odesa and now based in Oslo. My path started with journalism and led me into software, which makes more sense than it might sound. I've always wanted to understand how things work, why people do what they do, and how complicated ideas can become something useful.

I love a good question, a system that finally makes sense, a conversation that goes somewhere unexpected, and the feeling of discovering something new. Technology is one way I explore the world. People, books, science, art, and travel are others.

I care about building things that matter, explaining complexity without losing its depth, and keeping the human part of technology in view.

In 2025, I organized and hosted a small women-and-AI meetup in Oslo — a chance to explore practical AI together and exchange ideas.
